Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news update involving Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.

ChronicleLive recently reported that Woodman is someone that Celtic are currently monitoring and he is on the shortlist for the goalkeepers that the Hoops are currently looking at. It was reported that the Bhoys have held long-term interest in the 23-year-old but it remains to be seen if they can offer him first-team football at this point.

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

This update was relayed on Twitter by the CelticBible recently. It caught the attention of many Celtic fans, who made their opinion very clear about it.

Would you like Woodman at Celtic?

I'd love that

Woodman had joined Swansea City on loan from Newcastle United in the summer of 2019. And in the 2019/20 season, he has been a regular for the Swans. He has made 41 Championship appearances this season, also keeping a total of 12 clean sheets (via Transfermarkt).

But the update involving the 23-year-old caught the attention of many other Celtic fans.

Clearly, there is a mixed reaction to this news. Some Celtic fans don’t want Woodman at Parkhead, while some others would like the Hoops to sign the goalkeeper.

The fans should keep in mind that the report doesn’t say that Celtic would make a move for Woodman and he is only on the shortlist. Joe Hart and Vasilios Barkas (Daily Mail via the Scottish Sun) have also been linked and it shows that Woodman isn’t the only man on the club’s shortlist.

With Fraser Forster now not returning to Parkhead, the Hoops will need a goalkeeper. Woodman is a regular between the sticks for Swansea and at 23, he could have some re-sale value too. So signing him may not be a bad move at all for the Hoops.
