Many Celtic fans have been talking about Fraser Forster after a tweet involving the goalkeeper caught their attention recently.

A Hoops-related page called ‘Celtic Gossip’ recently posted about the Englishman, saying that Forster’s head has now ‘turned’. The tweet said that ‘money has destroyed’ the game and criticised Forster for ‘throwing away the chance’ to help Celtic win a 10th Premiership title in a row.

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

The Daily Record recently suggested that Forster may have been tempted by ‘a long-term deal on offer elsewhere’, linking the Southampton loanee with a move to one of a number of ‘big-spending English top-flight clubs’ this summer.

But the tweet from Celtic Gossip caught the attention of many Celtic fans. They flocked to this tweet and made their opinion very clear.

Are you angry at Fraser Forster and his decision to not join Celtic?

Yes, he'll regret it

No, that is his decision

These Celtic fans clearly seem to think that Forster wasn’t really bothered about winning the title next season and was more interested in earning money elsewhere.

The Englishman has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks, while Mikel Arteta is also said to be looking at him as a back-up for Bernd Leno.

Some other Celtic fans also expressed their opinions about Forster’s situation.

These Hoops aren’t too pleased either and feel that the money in the English game isn’t helping Scottish football at this point at all.

Football Insider had recently reported that Forster does earn a pretty high wage at Southampton and that could be a big blow to Celtic’s hopes of signing him this summer. It was reported that he earns close to £100,000-a-week at Southampton currently. This wage is about three times more than what Celtic’s highest earners in Scott Brown, Christopher Jullien and Callum McGregor currently get.

So in that sense, Celtic can’t afford to destroy their financial balance in the current economic climate and avoiding a move for Forster makes perfect sense. They should look for cheaper alternatives.
