Speaking recently on PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show, Peter Martin suggested Rangers remain interested in Amiens SC midfielder, Bongani Zungu.

Zungu, who joined the French side from Vitória Guimarães SC in a £1.80 million deal back in 2017, has gone on to make 57 appearances for Amiens, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Rangers fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Rangers top goalscorers quiz. We'll start you off with an easy one... Who is Rangers' current top Scottish Premiership goalscorer this season?

Last season, the 27-year-old midfielder, who can operate from defensive and central midfield, featured 21 times for Amiens in Ligue 1, averaging a slightly concerning WhoScored match rating of just 6.24.

However, despite this apparently disappointing season, there has been interest from across the continent for the midfielder, with Celta Vigo and Strasbourg said to have had bids accepted for Zungu, only for the 27-year-old to decline the offers due to a desire to move to Rangers.

And, speaking on The Football Show, Peter Martin touched on the rumours of Rangers’ interest that still remains in the midfielder.

He said: “It won’t go away, the signing of Bongani Zungu for Rangers, they’re still chasing him.”

TIF Thoughts…

As such, it would certainly appear that everything is lined up for Zungu to make a move to Rangers this summer, with the player seeming to be so interested about a move to the club because of the fact that Steven Gerrard is their manager, as it is reported that the £1.44 million-rated Zungu is a massive Liverpool fan.

If he were to join the club, he would be the fifth player to join Rangers so far this summer, joining the likes of Ianis Hagi, Calvin Bassey, Jon McLaughlin and Leon Balogun at Ibrox next season.

As such, it certainly looks as if Rangers are getting a great deal of transfer business done before the start of next season.
