Premiership giants Celtic have been dealt a blow in their chase of Grady Diangana.

Football Insider has reported that David Moyes doesn’t want the club to ‘cash in’ on Diangana. A source has told the outlet that Moyes rates the player highly and wants to hand him a ‘major role’ in the team next season. They go on to say that the Hammers manager is ‘delighted’ by the progress Diangana has made.

Celtic have been linked with a move for Diangana and it has been reported that the Hoops have made initial enquiries regarding the availability of the player, who is currently on loan at West Bromwich Albion. The same report also claimed that the Englishman is believed to be ‘open’ about the idea of playing in Glasgow.

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

TIF Thoughts…

Diangana, who is valued at £4.05 million, has impressed in the Championship for the Baggies this season. He has contributed to 13 goals in the league. In all competitions, he has played a total of 29 games for the club (via Transfermarkt). As per Whoscored, he’s been the club’s third-best performer in the Championship this season with a rating of 7.13.

Clearly, Diangana is a quality player and because of that, he could be a vital addition for Celtic as well. The fact that he’s versatile across the three positions behind the striker means that he could add great depth to the side too. While they would surely want to make him a part of the first-team next season and he might be open to joining as well, Moyes’ decision comes as a big blow.
