The Express and Star journalist Nathan Judah has been discussing how much money Wolverhampton Wanderers would want to sell Raul Jimenez.
The 29-year-old forward has been a Wolves player for two years now, having initially joined on loan from SL Benfica before the move was made permanent for £30m (per BBC).
However, after impressive performances for the Old Gold, the Mexican has been linked with big-name clubs which he has previously discussed in an interview with Bolavip (via Tuttosport).
So, in the latest episode of The E&S Wolves Podcast, Judah discussed how much he believed Wolves would be after if a club came in with an offer for the 29-year-old striker.
He said: “It’s fine if you want Raul, and you’ll have our blessing if you want him and we haven’t got European football, but you’re going to have to pay £75m for him.
“£60-£70m minimum is what they’re going to be looking for Raul, for sure.
“I’d be very disappointed if they sell him for 50-something [million], I really would. When you pay £32m, you deserve easily £20m/£25m/£30m/£35m, at least doubling your money on a player that you’ve spent that kind of money [on] and he has done the business – which very few players do these days.”
TIF Thoughts…
As can be seen in what the journalist had to say, he believes that Wolves would be after somewhere in the region of £60-70m if they were to sell Jimenez.
Would you be disappointed if Wolves sold Raul Jimenez for £50-59m?
Yes, that's not enough
No, that would be decent
However, as the player has a market value of much lower than that at £36m according to Transfermarkt, perhaps getting a fee as high as Judah suggested is unlikely.
