The Athletic reporter Tim Spiers has been discussing Wolverhampton Wanderers’ star winger Adama Traore amid links with Manchester City, Juventus and Barcelona (per ESPN).

Last month, Nuno Espirito Santo went as far as stating that he does not know if the winger will be with the club next season but insisted that Traore has areas of his game to improve upon (via FourFourTwo).

So, in the latest episode of The Athletic’s The Molineux View podcast, Spiers discussed Traore and Nuno Santo’s comments about the Spaniard.

To start this quiz on Ruben Neves with an easy one, in the region of how much did the Old Gold pay to secure the midfielder's services?

He said: “I mean, he does that with every player, right? He never really goes overboard with his public praise for anybody. That’s obviously very deliberate.

“He [Traore] does need to improve. He’s only scored six goals this season in 51 matches. That’s a poor return, you’ve got to say, for a player of his quality in the positions that he can get himself in.

“So, that’s something for him to improve on. I think that puts off potential suitors for the kind of money that Wolves will be asking for if they were to sell him.

“People talk about him going to Liverpool, I don’t think Liverpool will buy a forward who’s only scored six goals this season, personally.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the journalist had to say, it seems to be his belief that Traore needs to improve his end product further before a side would pay big money for him.

Is Adama Traore good enough for a big-name club to pay a hefty fee for him yet?

No, he needs to improve

No, he needs to improve

Yes, he's good enough

Yes, he's good enough

However, Spiers could be being a little bit harsh as Traore has taken the fifth-most shots per league game for Wolves this season (1.2) but has scored the joint-third most goals (four) (per WhoScored).

That would suggest that the Spaniard scores a decent amount of goals for the number of shots he takes compared to other members of the Old Gold’s squad.
