Starting with an easy one, against which club did Shelvey make his Newcastle debut?

Castles spent a bit of time on the takeover and tried to bring everyone up to speed with what is happening, providing a new perspective from the buyers.

Here is what Castles had to say as he senses more doubt from the buyers in this takeover:

“[I’ve] been talking to someone involved in the process, and the guidance I have is quite interesting in that I would say there’s more doubt over the takeover going through than I’ve heard previously.

“I’m not saying that they don’t expect it to happen that they’re not confident about it, but previously the stance was very much ‘we do not see a way in which the Premier League can deny us the rights to take over this club’.

“Now, I think it’s understandable given the length of time it’s taken; there seems to be a little bit of doubt there.”

So, it appears that although the buyers have not lost confidence, they may not be as sure as they were when the process first started.

Are you now concerned about the takeover?

TIF Thoughts…

Considering this deal was handed over to the Premier League in April, and it is now July, it is no wonder that the buying side may have some doubts about the takeover.

What might not help the matter either is a report in the Daily Mirror that claims that the Staveley bid has now stalled as the Premier League is standing by BeIN Sports, which was permanently blocked in Saudi Arabia last week.

So, it remains to be seen what happens with the takeover, but the buying side are now not as confident as they were, which maybe isn’t a good sign.
