Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Pedro Neto has emerged as a doubt for this evening’s clash against Sheffield United.

As reported by the Express and Star, Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that the attacker may have to miss the clash with Chris Wilder’s outfit.

That is due to the fact the Portuguese youngster took a “strong kick” during Wolves’ 2-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.

To start this quiz on Ruben Neves with an easy one, in the region of how much did the Old Gold pay to secure the midfielder's services?

Neto only made a cameo appearance against the Gunners, having been substituted on for Matt Doherty with under 20 minutes of normal time remaining (per BBC).

However, prior to the trip to Yorkshire, Nuno Santo confirmed that the 20-year-old was ‘struggling‘ after he came on against Mikel Arteta’s side.

Wolves’ Portuguese gaffer then admitted that the Old Gold will just ‘have to wait and see how he is’.

TIF Thoughts…

Should Neto miss the clash at Bramall Lane, it may not have a major impact on proceedings as Neto has not started a match for Wolves since the restart (per Transfermarkt).

However, he has been brought on as a substitute in all four clashes and featured for around 77 minutes of action in total, in which he bagged one goal and no assists.

Across the season as a whole, it may also be fair to state that Neto has somewhat underperformed over 25 Premier League appearances.

Would Pedro Neto be a big loss to Wolves' side if he missed the game against Sheffield United?

The attacker has been Wolves’ sixth-worst performer in the league this season with a weak average rating of 6.45/10 (per WhoScored).

However, he has only started seven of those 25 games and been a substitute in the other 18, so, perhaps it is unfair to expect a strong average rating after sporadic starts.

It still seems likely, though, that the Old Gold would be able to cope with Neto’s absence should he miss the clash with the Blades due to his lack of starts since the season’s resumption.
