On the latest The View From the Lane podcast, Jack Pitt-Brooke, James Maw and Charlie Eccleshare have been reacting to the weekend’s 2-1 win against arch-rivals Arsenal.

One topic of conversation on the recent episode, which was titled: ‘North London Derby – Reaction‘ was the performance of Lucas Moura in Sunday’s game. The Brazilian produced a man-of-the-match worthy display, earning an 8.65 rating according to WhoScored.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Here’s what Eccleshare had to say about the former PSG man’s performance in the 2-1 win:

“Yeah, Lucas was really, really good and that is why he gets picked and that’s what he can do. He’s not to everyone’s taste, but in games like that where a lot of it does come down to slightly less fashionable things like desire and work rate; he was putting in tackle after tackle.”

TIF Thoughts…

Although the 27-year-old didn’t contribute a goal or an assist in the derby, he was extremely impressive defensively for Jose Mourinho’s side; making 10 tackles during the game (per WhoScored). Whilst he has predominantly featured as a right-winger this season, Moura was selected in a relatively new position of left-midfield against Arsenal, and after his superb display, perhaps we will see him feature there more regularly in the remaining fixtures.

Was Moura your man of the match against Arsenal?

The winger has so far this season contributed just four goals and two assists in 32 appearances in the top-flight (per WhoScored), so you could argue that after his display on Sunday, the next thing he needs to add to his game is more goal contributions.
