On the latest episode of the Last Word On Spurs podcast, Ricky Sacks, Lee McQueen, Jamie Brown and Daniel Merriman have been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur and looking ahead to the final game of the season against Crystal Palace.

One topic of conversation on the recent episode, which was titled: ‘Finishing Strong‘, was Spurs’ recent announcement that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is hoping to play host to a ‘high profile’ Rugby Union match between Saracens and DHL Stormers in 2021 (per Tottenham Hotspur).

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Here’s what Sacks had to say about the announcement on the recent episode of the podcast:

“We have had some news from the club today that they’re delighted to announce that the intention is to stage a high-profile Rugby Union exhibition match between Saracens and DHL Stormers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2021. So despite [the viral outbreak] hitting Spurs really, really hard in terms of the financials – we know they had a lot of concerts lined up – they’re still looking at getting exhibitions on ahead of next season. I think that’s really important for the club.”

TIF Thoughts…

As Sacks mentioned, Spurs had a lot of events lined up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer which had to be cancelled or postponed due to the impact of the current viral outbreak.

Are you planning to attend any of the events at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium?

Of course, that will have a detrimental impact on the money coming into the club, but hopefully, the club will be able to make use of their £1 billion stadium complex a lot more next summer, with this Rugby Union game perhaps likely to just be one of many events to take place at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. The club’s website states that a Lady Gaga concert will take place on 30 July 2021, which suggests that the North London club are working hard to arrange events.
