Leeds United have announced via their official Twitter account that Carlos Corberan has left his role at the club.
The 37-year-old has become Huddersfield Town’s new head coach and according to Leeds Live, he will receive ‘significantly more money’ and the opportunity to take up the ‘most senior and high profile role of his career’ at his new club.
Corberan arrived at Elland Road approximately three years ago and was brought into the club by Victor Orta from the Cypriot club Ermis. Leeds have won promotion to the Premier League as champions of the second-tier and so taking the main job with the Terriers does mean that he won’t get the opportunity to work in the top-flight just yet.
Here is how a sample of the club’s supporters responded to the announcement his time with the Whites has come to an end.
Good luck Carlos ? pic.twitter.com/kPbPjJaPio

Congratulations Carlos and best wishes for your future. You’ve done a miraculous job at #lufc academy and first team thereafter. A good opportunity now to be Head Coach. #lufc

Do you think Corberan will succeed at Huddersfield Town?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses that many of these Leeds fans were sad to see Corberan go but have wished him every success for the future, even if he is joining one of their Yorkshire rivals.
Best of luck Carlos, learn your trade at a higher level to one day take the reigns at the highest level with the Mighty Leeds. Thanks for your hard work and achievement with both 1st team and development team.

The biggest compliment he can have is that Bielsa allowed him into his inner circle as part of his coaching team.

The Spaniard considered leaving the Whites to coach Cultural Leonesa last summer but Andrea Radrizzani persuaded him to stay for another year (via Leeds Live). The club’s majority owner told the press “I know how much Carlos works and now it’s also good he can take his own way, his own path and start a new journey to build himself as a first-team coach. He deserves it.”
