Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the reported news that the Lilywhites are interested in bringing Fernando Llorente back to the club this summer.
According to ESPN (via Ricky Sacks), the Spanish striker is being considered as an option this summer. The 35-year-old left Spurs to join Napoli last summer, but has found game time hard to come by with the Italian side this season, having made 17 appearances in Serie A – of which just three have been starts (per WhoScored). However, in that time, the forward has contributed three goals and one assist, which perhaps demonstrates his effectiveness as a back-up option.
During his time with the Lilywhites, the former Swansea man made 66 appearances for the club, contributing 13 goals and six assists (per Transfermarkt). Considering Jose Mourinho bemoaned his lack of striking options following the injury to Harry Kane earlier in the season, you can see why they are being linked with a striker ahead of next season, and considering the veteran forward is valued at just £3.6 million, he could represent a fairly cheap option for Daniel Levy in the summer transfer window.
Would you take Llorente back at the club?
Yes
No

He was so underestimated for us. Always provided a plan B, and scored some very important goals. Would support this 100%

Turned the CL semi final in the dam on its head when he came on at half time. Total game changer

Some Spurs fans feel the club never should have let the Spanish forward leave in the first place.
We should never have let the man leave last year! HUGE failure on #Spurs part doing so! Would have made a huge difference as a Plan B coming off the bench #COYS #THFC

Spurs should have never let him go – maybe soon we’ll regret Vertonghen’s departure too. However, once gone it is gone. If no, it turns into another myth like Bale’s return.

Other Spurs fans are less keen on the idea, however.

Overall, there seems to be a big split amongst Spurs fans as to whether re-signing Llorente would be a good idea or not.
