How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

Dickinson revealed that he thought when the Red Devils appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, they should have gone for Mauricio Pochettino.

Here is what Dickinson said about Pochettino:

“My argument when [Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer got the job was that I would be going for Pochettino, looking to rebuild long-term – I thought he was [a] prime candidate for them and obviously the way he ended up at Spurs, he was becoming available.”

It seems as if Dickinson believed that Pochettino would have been an ideal candidate to take the job at Old Trafford, but the Red Devils have stuck with Solskjaer, who has two years left on his contract.

TIF Thoughts…

The Argentine completely transformed Spurs in his time with the club and took them to a Champions League final and also helped the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane grow as players.

So, it is clear to see why Dickinson thought he would be a good fit for Manchester United.

However, things went wrong for Pochettino this season, and he was sacked in November 2019 with the club in 14th place.

Things haven’t really improved under Jose Mourinho, and Spurs are in 10th place, 11 points off the top four ahead of their midweek clash against Bournemouth.

Though Pochettino didn’t win anything at Tottenham, he did a superb job, and it is clear to see why Dickinson would have thought he might have joined the Red Devils.
