On the latest episode of the Last Word On Spurs podcast, Ricky Sacks, Lee McQueen, Jamie Brown and Daniel Merriman have been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur and looking ahead to the final game of the season against Crystal Palace.

One topic of conversation on the recent episode, which was titled: ‘Finishing Strong‘, was reported Spurs transfer target Kim Min-jae. The North London club have regularly been linked with a move for the South Korean international in recent weeks, with Beijing Guoan reportedly hoping for £15 million for the 23-year-old (per Evening Standard).

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Here’s what Brown had to say about the centre-back, nicknamed ‘the monster‘, on the podcast:

“I definitely think that Spurs will try to get one more, I think that Kim Min-jae from Beijing [Guoan] in the Chinese [Super] League. I think that’s certainly one that looks like Spurs are trying to do. It certainly looked anyway that they are trying to sign one more [centre-back]. So I think that Spurs will go for one more central defender but as we’ve established, there are four really top centre-backs there now, so there’s some great competition.”

TIF Thoughts…

Min-jae could be a sensible bit of business from the Lilywhites when you consider that club stalwart Jan Vertonghen is set to leave the club in the coming days, as his contract is set to expire.

When you consider the impact that fellow South Korean Son Heung-min has had both on the pitch, with 85 Spurs goals to his name, and off the pitch, with Spurs having established a South Korean supporters’ club following his arrival at the club, you can perhaps see why Daniel Levy might want to potentially expand Spurs’ brand in East Asia by adding Min-jae to the Lilywhites’ ranks this summer.

Do you think Levy is predominantly behind the reported interest in Min-jae?

No

The young defender has made 30 appearances for his country already, scoring three goals (per Transfermarkt), and when considering both the reports surrounding the defender, and what Brown had to say on the podcast, a move to Spurs certainly looks to be a possibility.
