Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Ricky Sacks relays reports that Southampton have informed Daniel Levy to up his bid for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
According to the reports by the Evening Standard, Southampton have told Spurs to ‘significantly’ improve their bid for Hojbjerg or to ‘forget about a deal’, with the club’s current offer said to be well below Everton’s second bid for the player – reported to be £20 million before add-ons.
After the report was relayed on Twitter by Sacks, fans of Spurs flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that they know how the deal is going to end, as they have no faith in Daniel Levy to match Everton’s offer.
Late signings = bad for the manager = start the season badly = cost points = can cost CL Qual. = revenue
Why has Levy never understood the couple of pounds he saves will haunt us in the long run, come end season when we need the points..
I really wonder why we put up with this?

What’s wrong with Levy?

So he moves to Everton then and the cycle continues

While it is said that Southampton had initially wanted around £35 million for the midfielder, who joined the club from Bayern Munich in a £13.5 million deal back in 2016, the club’s asking price was reduced following Hojbjerg making his desire to leave clear, as well as the fact the 24-year-old has just a year left to run on his current contract, meaning that an offer of around £20 million should be enough to make a deal happen.
Considering the fact that the midfielder is currently valued at £10.80 million, it would seem that a move for Hojbjerg would represent decent value in the market.
Would you like to see the club make a £20 million offer for Hojbjerg?
Yes
No
However, it would also seem that many of these Spurs fans do not back Levy to get the deal done.
The year is 2020, Spurs are in the top 10 richest clubs on the PLANET, one of the most expensive season tickets on earth, hired a money manager on a massive contract & they’ve just offered Southampton £4m for Hojbjerg. An absolute disgrace and embarrassment to their fans, AGAIN!

So he’ll be wearing an Everton shirt next season then…

Well we all know we aren’t getting him now…

Whether or not Spurs do eventually match the bid of Everton, we will have to wait and see.
However, with Southampton reportedly giving Tottenham 48 hours to do so before pressing forward with Everton, we certainly won’t have long to wait.
