Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been reacting to recently posted footage of former Spurs youth player Marcus Edwards.
This comes after Spurs news Twitter account @TheSpursWeb shared a post on their page that contained footage, originally posted by @vsports_pt.
The footage shows Edwards scoring a goal in a recent match for his current club Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal, the club he left Tottenham for on a free transfer back in September 2019 (per Transfermarkt).
The Spurs news Twitter page captioned their post admiring Edwards’ goal and praising the ‘talent he’s turning out to be’.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Spurs fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest footage of the winger.
Here’s a sample of Spurs fans responding to the post:
It wouldn't be a weekend without us posting about Marcus Edwards. What a talent he's turning out to be. pic.twitter.com/eWAVKBjvio

When Poch compared him to Messi, obviously people laughed because they didn’t understand that he meant he’s got similarities to Messi in his style of play, the way he moves on the ball is a bit Messi like. Is there a buy back option on him?

The footage shows Edwards showing great pace, skill and strength to burst into the opposition penalty box and strike a sweet shot into the bottom corner of the near post.

Now that this footage of Edwards latest goal for the Portuguese club has been doing the rounds on Twitter, this paved the way for lots of Spurs fans to have their say on the winger.
Would Marcus Edwards start in this current Spurs team?
Yes
No
However, there were some Spurs fans responding to the post who were not as excited by Edwards’ latest bit of action for Vitoria or by a potential return to the north London club for the 21-year-old in the future.
Had his chance. Poch obviously didn’t see it in him. He’s in a poor league now. Look at Jansen and Soldado. Players who performed well in similar types of leagues

Just remember the league he’s playing in though…

My hatred of Poch burns deep for what he did to this guy https://t.co/OgXsuVwiNb

I blame Poch on this one, his stubborn decision sometimes cost us. A lot of our players could be better if we treat them right like kwp

Poch biggest sin letting Little Messi go aided by Levy

The goal scored by Edwards definitely showed the great skill the Englishman has in his locker.
The response to this post from the majority of these Spurs fans shows that they are very impressed with what they have seen from Edwards and would be happy to see him return to the London club at some point in the future.
