Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have been flocking to a Twitter post which was shared to social media by Alasdair Gold.
On Friday, the journalist relayed quotes which were made by Jose Mourinho in a press conference (per Alasdair Gold).
While the press conference was to preview Spurs’ clash with Arsenal on Sunday, the quotes were Mourinho discussing Tanguy Ndombele’s performance in the 0-0 draw with Bournemouth.
As per Gold’s tweet, he said: “[The] feeling was we are going to have the ball, space to play and the midfield players I had on the bench: [Oliver] Skipp, Gedson [Fernandes], Harvey [White], Tanguy I thought he was the one with the talent to move the ball. He was the same level as the team, not better or worse.”
Lots of The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful then flocked to this to air their thoughts.
Asked Mourinho about Ndombele: "Feeling was we are going to have the ball, space to play and the midfield players I had on the bench: Skipp, Gedson, Harvey, Tanguay I thought he was the one with the talent to move the ball. He was the same level as the team, not better or worse."

If he believes that TN wasn’t any better than the team that started the game, sorry, tell me he needs players and time, he needs to go. That’s pure ego. Tanguy wasn’t amazing, but he passed forward, looked forward, carried the ball. Totally different level to Winks and Sissoko.

He was the only progressive player on the pitch. He did more in about 5 minutes than anyone did in the whole of the first half!

For his role in the 0-0 draw after coming off the bench, Football.london awarded Ndombele a 6/10 performance rating and stated that he ‘instantly upped Tottenham’s tempo’.
Do you agree with what Jose Mourinho had to say?
No, he was very wrong
Yes, he got that right
Shows alarming concern about Mourinho’s judgement!

What is Mourinho on about? The little movement and fluidity that Spurs had in that game only came about when Ndombele came on the pitch. He just doesn’t want/rate the player.

Across the season as a whole, the French midfielder has been in decent, if uninspiring form, as he has picked up a 6.71/10 average rating from 21 league outings (per WhoScored).
However, supporters were keen to disagree with what Mourinho had said about the middleman following the clash with the Cherries.
Obviously got a grudge as he was better than the rest

Tanguy was the only player to give the game some tempo with his one touch passing. The only bright light in a dismal performance. No offence to Gedson, Skippy or young Harvey White but Ndombele is clearly streets ahead. Get mourinho, his grudges and his bullying out of our club

We need to build the team around him. Shame he can’t see that.

As can be seen in what these Spurs fans had to say, it was clear that they disagreed with what Mourinho said and they felt that Ndombele was a cut above the rest.
