Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have been flocking to an admission from Newcastle United loanee Danny Rose.

In the Toon’s official programme for their clash with West Ham United on Sunday, the left-back discussed his Spurs career and revealed that he was playing for his future (via Goal).

That is due to the fact that he no longer sees his future being at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He said: “It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that my days are numbered at Spurs. I am playing for my future – no bigger motivation.”

In fact, he blamed his Spurs career coming to a halt on the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino, who lost his job in November.

Rose stated: “When my old manager lost his job, that was pretty much the end for me.”

Lots of Spurs fans then flocked to some of these quotes when they were relayed to supporters on social media by Ricky Sacks.

Since making the switch to Steve Bruce’s outfit on loan in the January transfer window, the 30-year-old defender has made seven Premier League appearances.

However, over those outings, the left-back has delivered a fairly uninspiring 6.52/10 average rating (as per WhoScored), making him the 10th-worst performer for the Toon in the league this term.

One fan even claimed that a reason behind his words may be that he knows an influx of cash could be on its way to Newcastle United, with their potential takeover ongoing.

Not every supporter shared the same opinion, though.

However, as can be seen in most of the responses from Tottenham supporters, many of them would not mind if Rose departed on a permanent transfer this summer.
