In the latest video on his YouTube channel, Football.london journalist Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur and looking ahead to their game against Everton on Monday night.

One topic of conversation in Gold’s recent video was 18-year-old striker Troy Parrott. The Republic of Ireland international was ruled out before the restart as he required surgery on his appendix but it seems as if from what Gold relays, he could be making a return in the near future.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Here’s what the journalist had to say about the young striker:

“Maybe we will see a couple of the youngsters on the bench in the remaining games. You’ve got Dennis Cirkin, Troy Parrott is expected back really, he possibly could come back into the fold, you’d hope he gets some minutes.”

TIF Thoughts…

The academy graduate was thrust into the limelight earlier in the season following Harry Kane’s long-term injury, but despite his impressive goal record with the various academy teams at Spurs, Jose Mourinho had previously suggested that he felt it was too soon for Parrott to be starting games in the Premier League (per Evening Standard).

Do you think Parrott will get his chance in any of the remaining fixtures?

Yes

No

Since the restart, Kane has played every minute in the top flight prior to the game against Everton on Monday night, so having Parrott back soon could be a welcome boost for the Portuguese manager, especially with the new rule that allows for five substitutions. Hopefully, with a push for a Champions League spot seemingly no longer on the cards, the 57-year-old boss will give young players such as Parrott an opportunity to impress in the remaining fixtures.
