On the latest episode of the Last Word On Spurs podcast, Ricky Sacks, Jamie Brown, Richard Whitehead, and James Dickens have been discussing the latest goings-on at the north London club, looking back on the 3-0 win against Leicester City last weekend.

One topic of conversation on the recent episode, which was titled: ‘Clinical Kane‘, was the recent form of Lucas Moura. The Brazilian was superb in the win against Brendan Rodgers’ side on Sunday; providing two assists and earning an impressive 8.48 rating for his performance (per WhoScored). The former PSG man has also impressed in the recent wins against Arsenal and Newcastle United, which saw him earn a lot of praise on the podcast.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Here’s what Dickens had to say about the 27-year-old’s recent form:

“I am not a fan of Lucas Moura. Obviously, he’s given most of us the best night of our footballing lives. But outside of that, he’s been generally poor. He’s been outstanding in the last two games. I didn’t even think he had that sort of performance in him.”

TIF Thoughts…

As Dickens alludes to, Moura will perhaps always be remembered by Spurs fans for his hat-trick in the Champions League semi-final win against Ajax last season. However, across the season as a whole, the Brazilian’s form has not been overly impressive; with just four Premier League goals to his name and an average rating of 6.94 across his 34 top-flight appearances (per WhoScored).

However, his form in the last three games has been much more impressive and is perhaps a promising sign ahead of next season that the 27-year-old can be a key part of Jose Mourinho’s squad going forward.
