Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some quotes from former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan, in which he suggests that Wilfried Zaha could join the Lilywhites this summer.
Jordan suggested on TalkSPORT (via TranSPURS), that he could see the Ivory Coast international joining Jose Mourinho’s side this summer, saying:
“He wants to go now. I could see him going to Tottenham. It depends [on] how Mourinho wants to set Tottenham up next year and what he wants to do with them.”
The former Manchester United man was Palace’s best performer in the most recent Premier League season, averaging a 6.98/10 rating across his 38 appearances, contributing four goals and three assists (per WhoScored). Jordan suggests that the 27-year-old wants to leave the Eagles this summer, and with Spurs having secured European football for next season, perhaps the Lilywhites could be a possible destination for the winger.
However, with Spurs having plenty of options available to them on the wings, perhaps it wouldn’t be worth signing the £39.6 million-rated ace this summer.
Would Zaha be a good signing for Spurs?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the possibility of signing Zaha can be seen in the tweets below.
Zaha definitely improves the first team not just the squad.

This needs to happen

Would love him at Spurs. But can’t see him playing no2 to Kane. Can’t see Mourinho playing both with Son in an all put attacking game either.

A couple of Spurs fans suggested that the Ivorian would be an upgrade on Lucas Moura, which seems harsh when you consider that the Brazilian averaged a fairly solid 6.96 rating in the most recent Premier League season.
He’d improve the squad for sure but is so much better than Lucas, Bergwijn or Lamela that he’s worth spending £40-50m of transfer budget on when it could be spent on other positions we’re far more in need of?

If we are going to sit back against teams then yes he’d be a good buy to play on the counter. An upgrade on Lamela/Moura imo

Other Spurs fans seem to think he would be a great signing.
Absolutely would be perfect if we play the 442 going forward

He is a good replacement for Alli

Overall, it seems as if a lot of Spurs fans would be happy if the Lilywhites were to sign Zaha this summer.
