Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to an interview from Harry Winks following the 0-0 draw with Bournemouth on Thursday evening.
The Spurs academy graduate spoke following the game at the Vitality Stadium, with Football Daily originally sharing the footage of him saying (via Last Word On Spurs):
“We have to fight and keep working as hard as we can to get out of this rut.”
The England international was arguably one of Spurs’ better players in the draw against the Cherries, earning a solid 7.09 WhoScored rating for his display. However, that didn’t prevent a lot of Lilywhites supporters being critical of the 24-year-old in their replies to the tweet.
When you consider that the midfielder has contributed no goals or assists this season, and has averaged a very disappointing 6.53 rating for his performances in the Premier League (per WhoScored), you can perhaps understand Spurs fans’ frustrations that he continues to feature in Mourinho’s side.
Is Winks good enough for the first team at Spurs?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the quotes from Winks can be seen in the tweets below.

Bang average like the rest of the midfield. None would get in a top club starting 11

Some Spurs fans made the point that this has been promised in interviews before, yet nothing has changed.
We’ve heard it before but nothing changes

Sell these players all they do is tell us they have to fight but you don’t see it
Winks was poor yet he looked like the best player on the pitch because the rest were slacking off

Other Spurs fans just criticised the 24-year-old’s performance.
Winks I didn’t even know he was on the pitch.

Overall, it seems that the majority of Spurs fans were either not impressed by Winks’ performance, or not impressed by his quotes following the game.
