In the latest video on his YouTube channel, Football.london journalist Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur and discussing some of the transfer business that the Lilywhites could conduct this summer.

One topic of discussion in his recent video was Bournemouth striker and reported Spurs transfer target, Callum Wilson. Following the Cherries’ relegation to the Championship, the former Coventry City man has been linked with a host of Premier League club, including Spurs, West Ham, and Newcastle United (per Sky Sports).

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Here’s what Gold had to say about the potential signing of the 28-year-old:

“I do think the Callum Wilson links make a lot of sense, especially if he’s £10 million, that’s an incredible bargain for a player who’s an England international, scores goals in the Premier League.

“I think the challenge you’re probably going to have is other clubs maybe being able to offer him more minutes, but bearing in mind he’s quite versatile, he can play out wide as well, and I think it would be a great step for him to come to Spurs.”

He later adds: (9:03)

“I think that would be a great move.”

TIF Thoughts…

Spurs certainly look as if they will face competition for the England international this summer and as Gold suggests, the likes of West Ham and Newcastle may be able to offer him more game time considering Kane’s impressive form this season. In the most recent season, Wilson contributed eight goals in 35 Premier League appearances; averaging a disappointing 6.51 rating (per Whoscored).

However, the 2018/19 campaign saw him grab 14 goals and nine assists in 30 top-flight appearances (per Whoscored), suggesting he can be a real threat when he’s on form, so as Gold suggests, perhaps he would be a great addition to Jose Mourinho’s squad this summer.
