Lee Ryder, speaking on the latest episode of the Everything is Black & White podcast, has revealed his thoughts on Richard Masters’ comments on the proposed takeover of Newcastle United in front of a selection of MPs.

Nice easy one to start off with, which club did Newcastle United sign Shearer from in 1996?

Ryder spoke about other things, but he provided a little bit of insight into what Masters might have wanted out of the meeting.

Here is what he had to say about Masters.

“Well the Richard Masters stuff, I guess he went in there to talk about football in general. But he was always going to get asked about the takeover, and he probably didn’t want to say anything about it to be totally honest.

“So, he was pushed and pushed, and they were fair questions, what were asked, and certainly ones that [Newcastle] supporters will want information on.

“The big headline that came out of it was that he said ‘it should be shortly concluded’ but was he saying he would like it to be concluded shortly or [that] it will be?

“That is still up in the air.”

It seems as if Ryder believes Masters did not want to face any questions on the proposed takeover of Newcastle, and it is unclear if he wants the Premier League’s process to finish soon, or it will be finished soon.

Do you agree that Masters probably didn't want to talk about the takeover?

Yes, he probably just wanted to ignore it

TIF Thoughts…

Masters was asked many questions about the proposed takeover of Newcastle and kept saying he could not comment on it, but his “shortly” comment is intriguing.

Hopefully, he means that the Premier League are close to deciding because the deal has been agreed with Ashley since April, and we are now in July.

A decision has to arrive soon because fans, players, and Steve Bruce are all becoming frustrated at this – so hopefully, a decision will be made soon.
