Many Newcastle United supporters have been responding to a recent Twitter post from The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards.
The reporter shared his feelings on football behind closed doors before sharing with his followers that he hopes for some movement with regards to the proposed takeover of the club within the ‘next 10 days’.
The Saudi-backed consortium are still waiting for the Premier League’s verdict on whether or not they have satisfied their owners’ and directors’ tests. The takeover has been with the authorities since April and it is yet to reach a conclusion either way, despite the process typically taking up to four weeks.
Here is how a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful have responded to the post on the social media platform.
What will be will be the silence from all involved is deafening and puts us at a major disadvantage with regards planning for the coming season.

It will stay deserted if Mike and Brucie stick around!

I have been hoping for takeover movement for the last 10 years?

Are you confident the proposed takeover of Newcastle United will be completed within the next ten days?
Yes
No
It is clear from the above responses that Edwards’ tweet did very little in terms of lifting the mood of some fans who have clearly grown tired and frustrated by the whole thing. The Magpies finished the Premier League season in 13th place, ten points clear of the relegation zone and ten points behind Burnley who finished mid-table in 10th (via premierleague.com). Those who follow the club continued to respond to the post.

4 wins in 20 tells every fan what they need to know. Awful side, going nowhere, as always.

If the proposed takeover is to be approved, this summer’s transfer window could look very different for Newcastle United due to the wealth of the potential owners and therefore, you can understand why so many of these supporters are desperate to see it completed.
