A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which includes comments taken from Richard Keys’ blog.

Starting with an easy one, against which club did Shelvey make his Newcastle debut?

The BeIN Sports host has provided an update on the proposed takeover of the Toon.

Keys claims that ‘any day now the PL will nod through’ Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed bid for Newcastle.

This drew the attention of these Toon fans who do not trust Keys.

Do you believe Keys?

No, he knows nothing

No, he knows nothing

Yes, he might be onto something

Yes, he might be onto something

Keys has been against this takeover from the start and even insisted that he wished it was another club and not the Toon who were going to be taken over by the Saudis.

He also revealed that a second bid from Henry Mauriss was lodged to buy Newcastle and he has repeatedly insisted that the takeover should be blocked.

However, these comments made some Toon fans think that after all his protesting, he might actually be the one to get the time of the takeover announcement right – although at least one fan is wary of the former Sky presenter potentially using his influence over Premier League chief executive Richard Masters, who is essentially the man to either approve or deny Newcastle’s proposed takeover.

What should be remembered, though, is that he thought the deal would be approved in May, but this time he has claimed that the takeover will be passed by Friday.

It will be interesting to see if he is right or if it turns into another false dawn, a bit like the prediction that the takeover would be done by the first of June or another report, which stated that because Saudi Arabia had announced a crackdown on piracy, the Premier League would pass the takeover.

This process has been ongoing since April, so we hope that Keys is right, and the Premier League will have made their decision by Friday so Newcastle can begin preparing for next year.
