A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Luke Edwards that includes a link to a post from The Chronicle.
The post claims that Mike Ashley’s helicopter had been spotted on Sunday, and Edwards confirmed that this was indeed Ashley’s helicopter but that he was still in the USA.
Instead, it was Justin Barnes who was using the helicopter to fly to and from games.
This has drawn a negative reaction from these Toon fans.
Does it matter if Ashley is in the UK or not?

Tells me that the takeover won’t happen for a good while yet and probably months

There were reports that Ashley had returned to the UK, but according to Edwards, he is still in the US, so does anyone actually know where he is?
This post continued to attract negative responses from many Newcastle fans.

Ashley using Barnes to remove the lightbulbs, pull the carpets up and take the door handles off before moving on.

Other Toon fans, though, were confused about where Ashley is.

While some supporters have expressed concerns over the potential takeover of the club following this update, it doesn’t really matter if he is in the UK or not because he has agreed a deal to sell the club and accepted a deposit from Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium in April.
So, he can do nothing about the takeover now, and it all comes down to the Premier League, but we are now in July, and there is still no decision.
However, despite the uncertainty over the Toon’s future off the field on the pitch, Newcastle have gone six league games unbeaten and have scored 10 goals since the Premier League’s restart.
However, this has still not stopped Steve Bruce and the Toon squad asking for clarity, as well as a petition set up by fans to try and convince the PL to make a decision on this takeover.
Hopefully, for the sake of Newcastle United, they do get a verdict on this soon.
