Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news concerning the club and their transfer plans for the upcoming summer window.
This comes after Newcastle news Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post on their page that contained an article from Chronicle Live who claim that under their current model, the club ‘would be able to bring in up to four new permanent signings and the Magpies already have their sights on at least one other out of contract player’.
The report also added that the club have ‘previously held talks with Arnaud Lusamba who left Nice in recent weeks’.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest news.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans responding to the post:
It's believed that #NUFC– under their current model – would be able to bring in up to four new permanent signings & they've got sights on at least one other out of contract player.
They've previously held talks with Arnaud Lusamba who recently left Nice. https://t.co/8v9i3MeDsS

Under the current model nufc are going nowhere. Under Mike Ashley nufc are dead in the water.
I have no interest in which players we might be interested in under Ashley as they are there to sell on not create a team.
Last 13years of this should tell us that its takeover or bust

Up to four, when we have three on loan already and are probably losing matty on a free, so it’s essentially replacing what we already have .

During a recent press conference, Bruce claimed that if the takeover doesn’t go through the club will “just have to try to be prepared the best we possibly can be and get ready on next season” in terms of what incoming transfers they will be able to make.
I’ve got zero interest in a model that still involves Bruce and Ashley next season. Imagine the come down if this takeover crashes. Bruce. Ashley. Freebies. SD tat everywhere. Scrapping for survival. Inflatable pools. Wheelie bins. Not sure how fans could resist.

If the takeover doesn't go through this summer, could Newcastle be in danger of being relegated next season?
Yes
No
I simply can’t comprehend this current model still being here next season, if the #nufctakeover doesn’t go through I think my head might explode.

Now that this article has outlined the club’s transfer plans under their current ownership, this sparked a big reaction on Twitter with lots of Newcastle fans sharing their frustrations at the club.
Out of contract sums us up

Under Mike Ashley. You having a laugh. The strings are gonna be tighter then ever

I hate this club sometimes

Looking at these replies from this group of Newcastle fans, it appears that they have no interest in the current model the club has and would much rather see the club change to a new model under the reign of Amanda Staveley and her Saudi-based consortium once their proposed takeover gets completed.
However, with there being no concrete indication on when this could happen, these Newcastle fans will just have to continue waiting and see what happens in terms of any potential incoming transfer to the club this summer.
