Starting with an easy one, against which club did Shelvey make his Newcastle debut?

The report claims that Bruce is “convinced he will be Newcastle United manager at the start of next season as he gently applied pressure on owner Mike Ashley to sanction the transfers needed to turn the team into a top-ten side next season.”

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans who were quick to share their reactions to this news.

Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans responding to the post:

Bruce was appointed as Newcastle manager back in July 2019. Since then, the 59-year-old has gone on to take charge of 44 matches for the Toon in which he has managed to register a points-per-game average of 1.25.

In his first season in charge of Newcastle, Bruce has guided his team to 13th place in the Premier League table with 44 points having won 11, drawn 11 and lost 15 matches with a game to go. In their final league match of the season, Newcastle take on league champions Liverpool at St. James Park on Sunday.

Now that it has been reported that Bruce has “gently applied pressure” on Newcastle’s owner Mike Ashley to give him the green light to allow Bruce to make the appropriate transfer signings this summer, as well as convince him that he is the right man to take the club forward, this sparked a huge reaction on Twitter, with many Magpies fans sharing their thoughts on the news.
