Man City fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Yaya Toure quiz. We'll start you off with an easy one... Who did Yaya Toure sign for City from back in 2010?

Castles was talking about the situation at Barcelona and then spent a bit of time talking about Messi and City’s interest.

Here is what he had to say:

“Manchester City have tried very, very hard to sign Lionel Messi in the past.

“Messi has used Manchester City’s interest to get the salary he is on at present.

“Khaldoon Al Mubarak, the chairman of Manchester City and one of the most influential men in Abu Dhabi, is on record as saying that the transfer he regrets not landing above all others is Lionel Messi.

“So I think Graham [Hunter] is not going to be wrong in suggesting that there is strong interest at Manchester City in still [acquiring] Lionel Messi and they’re one of the few clubs who would have the financial potential to do that deal.”

It seems as if City have tried to sign the 33-year-old in the past and might still be interested in signing Messi, who is now valued at £100.8 million (as per Transfermarkt).

Do you think City have a chance of signing Messi?

TIF Thoughts…

What is there to say about Messi that hasn’t been said already?

He is a genius and as the Catalan giants reached a milestone of 9,000 goals at the weekend, Messi had been directly involved in over 10% of Barcelona’s goals in their history, with 630 goals and 275 assists, as per Transfermarkt.

However, it seems as if City hold an interest in Messi and would like to make a deal if it became possible.

It will be interesting to see if and how this story develops.
