2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

Nicol was talking about Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 2-0 defeat to Arsenal and was asked if he could see the 24-year-old moving to Anfield.

This is what the former Reds player said a possible move to Merseyside for Traore:

“I could see him going, not as a starter though; I don’t think he’s quite ready to start for one of, if not, the top team in the world.

“[But] when he gets the ball, you sit on the edge of your seat, and you wonder what’s going to happen and if you’re playing against him, disaster.

“Do you close him [down], do you stand off him? He’s certainly a talent, I don’t think he’s the finished article yet, he’s come a long way in the last couple of seasons.

“So, I think a little bit more time at Wolves will do him the world of good.”

It seems as if Nicol could see Traore at Anfield, but he is not yet ready to start for them, so he thinks the former Aston Villa man should stay at Molineux for a bit longer.

Interestingly, Wolves reportedly want €150m [£135.28m] for the attacker (as per Duncan Castles, The Transfer Window Podcast), which could be a stumbling block.

TIF Thoughts…

Traore has scored six goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions this season, which is a vast improvement on his one goal and three assists from last season.

The 24-year-old has earned an average rating of 7.55 for his displays in the Premier League, and it is no wonder that the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City have been linked to the Wolves winger.

However, it seems as if Nicol believes he should remain at Molineux for now.
