Liverpool journalist Chris Pajak has made a claim on Reds defender Dejan Lovren and his future at the Merseyside club.
This comes after Pajak made an appearance on a recent episode of The Redmen TV podcast to discuss some potential transfers for Liverpool this summer.
On the topic of Lovren and his future at Anfield, Pajak shared his views on the situation.
He said: “I don’t really like him as a footballer. Over the years, he’s just made too many mistakes, but he can go on a 10-game run where he plays exceptionally. And that’s kind of where we’re at with him and we’ve always been at with him.
“I think, if I’m honest, people are just a bit bored of him by now, because he’s been here [for] six years – and we’ve seen these mistakes for six years. And we’re still thinking two years ago, we were going to get rid of him, last year, we were going to get rid of him.
“The likelihood is he’ll want to move and play first-team football. He believes he’s one of the best defenders in the world, still. He’s got his league title now, he’s got a European Cup, he’ll probably go on and Liverpool will probably have to replace him.”
Should Liverpool sell Dejan Lovren this summer?
Yes
No
Lovren, who is currently valued at £14.4 million according to Transfermarkt, first signed to Liverpool back in 2014 from Southampton for a fee of £22.77 million.
Since then, the Croatian has gone on to make 185 total appearances for the club in which he has managed to score eight goals and provide five assists for the Reds (per Transfermarkt).
So far this season, Lovren has made just 15 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side across all competitions, with 10 of them coming in the Premier League.
However, Lovren’s performances in those 10 league appearances have earned him an impressive season rating of 7.09/10 (per WhoScored).
TIF Thoughts…
Although he hasn’t been a regular figure for Liverpool this season, Lovren has shown in his league appearances that he can still do a good job for the Reds.
