Liverpool journalist Matt Addison has shared the latest transfer news surrounding Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
This comes after Addison recently made an appearance on the Liverpool Echo’s Blood Red Podcast to share the latest news on the club.
On the topic of Thiago and a potential move to Anfield for him this summer, Addison shared this latest update.
He said: “I think that Liverpool are highly unlikely to sign Thiago this summer. It’s not one that we understand is likely to take place, but for me, Thiago is one of the best midfielders in the world, and even if you think he’s not quite perfectly suited to Liverpool, he is still a brilliant, brilliant player and is somebody who would improve any team in the world, really – and you’ve got to include Liverpool in that.”

The Spaniard, who is currently valued at £43.2 million according to Transfermarkt, first signed to the German club back in 2013 from Barcelona for a fee of £22.5 million.
Since then, the midfielder has gone on to make 231 appearances for Bayern in which he has managed to score 31 goals and provide 37 assists. He has won numerous titles along the way.
However, numerous injuries have disrupted his time at the club since his arrival from Spain.
So far this season, Thiago has made 36 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring three goals and providing two assists (per Transfermarkt).

Now that Addison has shared this latest update, it seems that Thiago isn’t likely to be joining the Reds this summer. However, with the number of central midfielders that Liverpool have in their ranks at the moment, adding Thiago to that list may not be the smart move from the Merseyside club.
