2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

On the topic of Liverpool’s club captain, Addison shared his thoughts.

He said: “He’s been at Liverpool now for a very long time. He’s very much part of the furniture and I think after, obviously lifting the Champions League and the Premier League trophies, he’s never going to be as good as Steven Gerrard.

“He’s never going to replace Steven Gerrard as Liverpool’s best-ever player, but he certainly lived up to the reputation that he had when he came in.

“I think there’s no doubt about it now, that Jordan Henderson, his name will be up there with Gerrard with [Kenny] Dalglish and with these big players when people look back on it to have captained Liverpool during this period potentially, certainly one of if not the best Liverpool teams that there’s ever been, for him to have captained that I think says a lot about not just him as a player but him as a person as well.”

Henderson signed for the Merseyside club back in 2011 from Sunderland for a fee of £16.2 million.

Since then, the Englishman, who is valued at £25.2 million (as per Transfermarkt), has gone on to make 361 appearances for the Reds in which he has managed to score 28 goals and provide 50 assists along the way.

TIF Thoughts…

For Addison to talk about Henderson in the same category as Steven Gerrard and Kenny Dalglish just goes to show how much of a pivotal figure he has become during his time at Liverpool.
