2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

Hislop, who played for Newcastle United and West Ham United, talked about many topics and was asked the question about the Reds’ former Brazilian.

Here is what he had to say about Coutinho:

“I don’t think they’d take Coutinho back.

“I just don’t feel you revisit a player like Coutinho, as good as he was for you, I don’t think he’s replicated that form anywhere he’s been.

“And just given the circumstances around his departure to Barcelona, which you totally understand, I just think as a club, you don’t go back there.”

It seems as if Hislop does not believe that Liverpool should try and re-sign Coutinho in the upcoming transfer window.

TIF Thoughts…

The 28-year-old departed Anfield in January 2018 for £142m and he has made 76 appearances for Barcelona and scored 21 goals and provided 11 assists, but Barcelona want rid.

Coutinho is said to be keen on a move back to the Premier League, where he scored 41 goals and provided 37 assists, and has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea.

However, it seems as if Hislop believes that Liverpool should not be looking to bring him back to Anfield.

He was on loan at Bayern Munich this season, but the Bundesliga side have confirmed they will not be signing him permanently – so it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
