Podcast pundit Craig Hannan has been airing what he believes Liverpool will do in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Over last summer and the January transfer window, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds spent just £9.36m on transfers and sealed the arrival of four players (per Transfermarkt).

During the 2018/19 season, though, the Anfield outfit plunged a whopping £163.98m into signing players to bring in four new faces (per Transfermarkt).

So, in the latest episode of The Anfield Wrap podcast, Hannan aired how he felt the Merseyside outfit was going to play the upcoming window.

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

He said: “We know that Liverpool won’t take any risks, because journalists are continually coming out saying there won’t be big signings this summer.

“I think as soon as Liverpool know when fans are going to be in the ground, or when things are going to be more normal, or how much they’re going to get from the TV money, I think you might see a change in their tack and their strategy.

“They’ll have these players lined up because they would have had them lined up six months ago. The amount that they look to spend and want to spend might change. Maybe you might look to be a little bit smart with some, whether it’s younger players or loans or whatever.

“I think it’s just going to be a strange transfer window this year just because of everything that’s going on, not just the pandemic, but the way the fixtures have moved. Just everything around football has changed and the landscape’s changed for transfers.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the pundit had to say, it is his belief that it will be an irregular transfer window and the Reds may have to be “a little bit smart” with their business.

Do you believe that Liverpool will act cautiously in the next transfer window?

No, I think we'll spend big

Yes, we'll play it smart

Yes, we'll play it smart

So, judging from what Hannan had to say, it may be possible that Klopp has a similar transfer window to the two he did during last season as opposed to the 2018/19 term.
