LFC Daytrippers panellist Grizz Khan has been discussing the future of Liverpool’s Croatian defender Dejan Lovren on a recent edition of the podcast.

The 31-year-old has made just 10 Premier League appearances this season for Jurgen Klopp’s side and 15 appearances in all competitions (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). Judging by Khan’s comments, it’s clear he is convinced the centre-back will be leaving the club sooner or later but he has named a price at which he believes the Liverpool hierarchy will be willing to sell the player.

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

When discussing the player, the panellist had this to say: “He’s 31, injury-prone, hardly gets a game unless the others are injured. If we get a decent-size fee for him, he goes now, if not, we just extend the contract automatically and sell him next summer. I think if we get anything of around £9m or £10m, he’s gone.”

TIF Thoughts…

Lovren joined the Anfield giants in July 2014 from Southampton in a deal reportedly worth £22.77m (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk) and since his arrival, he has played on 185 occasions for the club. As per Transfermarkt, the Croatian is valued at £14.4m but according to Khan, the club could be tempted to sell the player for approximately £10m if an offer was to be put on the table.

Are you expecting Lovren to be sold in a cut-price deal this summer?

During his time with the Reds, Lovren has tasted UEFA Champions League and Premier League glory but given his lack of playing time this season, it could be understandable as to why the club may be willing to accept a slightly lower price for their experienced defender.
