Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a couple of tweets from @thespursweb & @TalkingTHFC, which share claims regarding Harry Winks’ Spurs future that originally surfaced from a report that was recently published by the Daily Mirror

This report states that Tottenham’s pursuit of Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg ‘has cast doubts’ over Winks’ future at the north London club.

It also suggests that Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is ‘keen’ to make Hojbjerg ‘the lynchpin of a new-look midfield’ for Spurs, however, this report also states that Spurs ‘will have to balance the books’, with transfer funds being limited this summer. The Daily Mirrors claim that Winks is ‘the most likely player’ to be sold by Tottenham to make way for Hojbjerg’s arrival.

After this was shared on Twitter, plenty of Spurs fans replied to share their thoughts on the claims.

Some Spurs fans disputed the Daily Mirror’s claim that Winks’ future could be in doubt if Hojbjerg makes the move to north London.

Some Tottenham supporters replied to @TalkingTHFC’s post to share that they believe it is Moussa Sissoko, rather than Winks, whose future will be in doubt if Hojbjerg moves to north London.

However, one Spurs fan shared that they believe there is ‘some truth’ in this claim.

Do you see Winks leaving Spurs this summer?

YES, MAYBE

NO, I DON'T

NO, I DON'T

According to Transfermarkt, only six Spurs players are valued higher than £28.8m-rated Winks at present. However, according to WhoScored, Winks has not been one of Tottenham’s most impressive players this season, earning an uninspiring average overall rating of just 6.57/10 from his 30 Premier League appearances this term, making him the club’s 20th-highest-rated player in England’s top flight for the 2019/20 campaign.

With that in mind, it may be understandable why Tottenham may consider cashing in on Winks in order to help balance the books this summer, even though most of these Spurs fans don’t seem to think that Winks is likely to leave the north London club.
