The Liverpool Echo’s head of sport David Prentice has recently slated the abilities of Everton’s Italian striker Moise Kean.

Kean has been an Everton player since last summer after the Toffees forked out a fee which could be worth up to £27.5m to secure his arrival from Juventus (per BBC).

However, the 20-year-old forward has struggled since his arrival at Goodison Park but does still have the backing of Carlo Ancelotti, as he stated in an interview with Radio Radio (via Express).

In one of the latest episodes of Royal Blue: The Everton FC Podcast, though, Prentice aired where Kean needs to improve his game for Everton.

To start this quiz on Richarlison with an easy one, how much did the Toffees pay to secure the Brazilian's services including potential future fees?

He said: “You can caveat everything by the fact that he’s a young man who’s in a foreign country who’s still trying to find his way in a different environment, but he’s a footballer. That’s his job and he’s there to create an impact on the pitch.

“To me, if you’re getting half an hour on the pitch as a striker, you can charge around, you can press defenders, you can have a couple of shots. I know he had a shot [against Aston Villa], arguably he should have played, was it [Theo] Walcott in? Rather than actually having that shot [and having] awareness of the bigger picture.

“That’s a big problem for me, awareness. [He] doesn’t hold the ball up great and when he does, his awareness of the picture around him is not great, but you just want to see an impact.

“You just want to see him do something when he comes on that makes you think, ‘Yeah, that’s an improvement, that’s changed things a little’, and we haven’t really seen that at all [in] any of the cameos, really.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what Prentice had to say, it is his belief that Kean is not showing enough in the substitute appearances that he is making for the club.

Do you believe that Moise Kean can fulfil his potential with the Toffees?

No, he's not good enough

Yes, he just needs time

However, with Ancelotti having aired his faith in the young forward when speaking to Radio Radio (via Express), it seems likely that the £22.5m-rated striker will continue to get chances to Goodison Park.
