The Liverpool Echo journalist Sam Carroll has been the recent news which stated that Everton are ‘open to offers’ for Nathan Broadhead.
Last week, it was revealed by the Liverpool Echo that the Toffees were willing to listen to transfer offers for the Welsh youngster.
The same report went on to state that ‘several clubs’ are potentially eyeing a move for the 22-year-old winger who has a year left on his contract at Goodison Park.
So, in the latest episode of Royal Blue: The Everton FC Podcast, released prior to the Toffees’ 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth, Carroll discussed the club’s stance.
He said: “I think [Everton are] doing the right thing in being open for offers because it’s time for him to spread his wings and be able to crack on.
“To be honest, I think out of this current group, he’s one that it wouldn’t surprise me if we see him back in the Premier League in the next couple of years.
“He’s exciting, he wants to get on the front foot, he loves running at players, but he’s also got a real work ethic [which has] been drilled into him by [David Unsworth] as well.
“So, if any Championship clubs are listening, then you could do worse than go for Nathan this summer, I’d say.”
TIF Thoughts…
Judging from what the journalist had to say, perhaps it is understandable that there are ‘several clubs‘ interested in signing the youngster from the Toffees.
Are Everton right to be open to offers for Nathan Broadhead?
No, he should stay
Yes, he's not good enough
Having bagged a respectable three goals and three assists over 22 appearances on loan with Burton Albion this season (per Transfermarkt), it would seem that Carroll could be right that the 22-year-old winger is worth a punt for another club.
