According to recent reports, Crystal Palace and West Ham United have joined the race for Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy.

The 24-year-old, who scored nine goals and provided one assist over his 23 Ligue 1 appearances this season, impressed for Amiens, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.93/10, ranking him as Les Licornes’ best performer in the league (out of those who had started a competitive fixture), despite the club finishing in 19th place in the French top flight.

Can you score 20/20 on this Premier League quiz? Starting off easy, who is the top scorer in the Premier League this season?

According to reports by But! Football Club, there is said to be interest in the forward domestically, with both Lille and Stade Rennais named as ‘credible candidates’ for Guirassy, while Crystal Palace and West Ham reported to also be keen on the striker, who will cost in the region of €12-€20 million (£10.9-£18.1 million).

TIF Thoughts…

It is not surprising that Crystal Palace will be on the hunt for a new forward over the coming transfer window, for two primary reasons.

Firstly, it is evident that improvement is needed in that area of the pitch, with Palace’s 30 goals scored this season bettering only relegated Norwich City’s record, while Palace manager Roy Hodgson has also admitted he would like to bring in a new frontman this summer, commenting on the profile of the striker he would like to bring to the club.

As such, with Amiens potentially being willing to part with the £7.2 million-rated Guirassy for as little as £10.9 million, a move for the 24-year-old striker would appear to make sense on the part of Palace, as the striker is clearly capable of finding the back of the net – despite playing for a bottom-three side in France – as well as affordable and good value for money.
