Aston Villa star Jack Grealish has been tipped to join Tottenham Hotspur by journalist Daniel Storey.

Storey was recently a guest on the latest episode of the Totally Football Show podcast and while the panel talked about many things involving the Premier League’s last round of matches, Storey focused on Grealish and his situation at Villa Park. The journalist feels that the Englishman would be a ‘logical’ fit for Spurs.

In this 2019/20 season quiz, do you remember who scored Villa's first PL goal of the season?

The Athletic had recently claimed that Grealish is expected to leave Villa when the campaign ends and they reported that Manchester United were ‘leading the race’ to acquire his services.

But when talking about the Villa star, Storey said: “I haven’t spoken to him or his agent, but Tottenham would seem a logical fit.

Will Grealish leave Villa in the summer window?

Yes, he'll leave

Yes, he'll leave

No, he will stay

No, he will stay

“So, I think, would Arsenal, maybe, if they want that creative player. They don’t necessarily buy that type of player normally, but I think he’d be a great signing for Arsenal. It’s been a kind of odd, sad end to the season – lots of players leaving their club after being long-serving: Leighton Baines with Everton, Grealish probably [has] played his last, I assume [Wilfried] Zaha’s played his last, David Silva’s leaving Manchester City. And obviously, they’ve all done that with no fans to wave them goodbye, which in the case of Grealish and Zaha, I wonder if that makes it a bit easier if they’re not having to do that kind of wave and any badge-kissing. They can just kind of slip off quietly into the transfer window.”

Storey clearly seems to believe that while Grealish will be a ‘logical’ fit for Spurs, he wouldn’t be a bad signing for Arsenal either. He also believes that playing without fans would have made it easier for Grealish to leave Villa this summer.

TIF Thoughts…

Grealish had been Villa’s highest-rated player in the 2019/20 season as he racked up a WhoScored rating of 7.23 in the season. He scored a total of eight goals and picked up six assists as well. The Englishman scored against West Ham on Sunday, helping his club avoid relegation on the last day of the season.

That shows how valuable a player Grealish is for Villa. He is currently valued at £27.45 million and his current deal at Villa Park runs out in the summer of 2023. So if Grealish does leave the club this summer, Villa would need to make sure that they get good money from his sale so that they can use the money and sign a replacement.
