Aston Villa fan and vlogger Max Stokes has made a claim on Villa defender Neil Taylor and his future at Villa Park.

This comes after Stokes made a video for his Villa-themed YouTube channel Villa On Tour, where he spoke about which players he would like to see leave or remain at the club this summer.

In this 2019/20 season quiz, do you remember who scored Villa's first PL goal of the season?

On the topic of Taylor, Stokes shared his views on the full-back and what he would do with the defender this summer.

He said: “It’s the end of an era for me. Neil Taylor, he’s got to go. He came in our first year in the Championship and he was a real good servant for us, but he’s got to go, unfortunately.

“I think if we are going to be ambitious, we need someone a little bit better than that to be backup to Matt Targett, or even overtake Matt Targett. Thank you for the memories Neil, but it’s time to go.”

The 31-year-old, who is currently valued at £2.52 million, signed to the Birmingham club back in the 2017 January transfer window from Swansea City.

Since then, the Welshman has gone on to make 100 appearances for Villa in which he has managed to provide four assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

This season saw Taylor make just 14 out of a possible 38 Premier League appearances for Dean Smith’s side.

TIF Thoughts…

It’s a shame that Stokes doesn’t see a future for Taylor at Villa Park but considering the fact that he has only made 14 appearances for Villa in the top flight this year, maybe a move away would be beneficial for Taylor so he can play more regularly.
