Who scored Villa's goal in their 1-0 win against Stoke City on the opening day of the 2014/15 Premier League season?

On the topic of Villa and their potential financial situation if they end up being relegated at the end of the season, Crafton shared his thoughts on the matter.

He said: “Aston Villa, I think could have a bigger problem, but obviously they’re protected by having fantastic assets like Jack Grealish and John McGinn, but the value of what you can sell those players for changes as well once you go to the Championship.”

Villa currently sit in 17th place in the Premier League table on 34 points, just above Watford on goal difference.

Their final league match of the season sees Dean Smith’s side take on West Ham United, who are in 15th place on 38 points.

As Crafton mentioned in the podcast, Grealish and McGinn are two of Villa’s most valuable players, with Grealish topping the list with a market value of £27.45 million, according to Transfermarkt.

TIF Thoughts…

Everyone at Villa will be hoping that they’ll be able to avoid the drop to the Championship this season. However, if they were to be relegated, maybe they would need to sell the likes of Grealish, McGinn and any other valuable players they have to raise funds for the club.

To avoid this outcome, Villa will want to secure all three points against the Hammers on Sunday and hope that will be enough to see them through to next season as a Premier League side.
