Aston Villa journalist Dan Bardell has been sharing his thoughts on club captain Jack Grealish and a potential move away from Villa Park this summer.

This comes after Bardell recently made an appearance on The Villa View to look back at Villa’s 1-1 draw against West Ham United that secured their safety in the Premier League for next season.

In this 2019/20 season quiz, do you remember who scored Villa's first PL goal of the season?

On the topic of Grealish and his future at Villa, Bardell shared his thoughts on the matter.

He said: “People don’t like it, but I don’t think anything has changed. I still would expect him to go.

“We’re too far away from what Jack Grealish needs. He’s not a young kid anymore, he’s 24, coming up to 25. I just think he needs to go and test himself at the highest level and unfortunately, the highest level isn’t with Aston Villa Football Club.”

Grealish, who currently valued at £27.45 million according to Transfermarkt, has been Villa’s top performer this season with a season rating of 7.23/10 for his performances in the 36 Premier League appearances he’s made in this campaign (per WhoScored).

Throughout the season, Grealish has been linked with a move away from Villa, with both Manchester City and Manchester United reportedly interested in signing the Englishman.

TIF Thoughts…

Looking at how impressive Grealish has been for Villa this season, the club would undoubtedly be hoping to keep hold of their star man this summer.

With Villa managing to avoid the drop to the Championship this season, this could make Grealish want to stay at the club and help them fight again in the top-flight next term.
