Nottingham Forest journalist Paul Taylor has made a big claim on Sabri Lamouchi’s future at the Championship club.

This comes as Taylor spoke on Lamouchi during the latest episode of The Athletic’s Going Up, Going Down Podcast after the club fell to a 4-1 defeat against Stoke City that cost them their place in the play-offs.

On the topic of Lamouchi and his future as manager of the club, Taylor had this to say on the matter.

He said: “Let’s not beat around the bush, I think his position is going to be in peril. I don’t think necessarily that any decisions have been made, but I think there will be some thought given to it. The fact he signed a new contract will not protect him if the owners decide that they do want to make a change.

“There is going to be some kind of inquest, there is going to be some kind of investigation into how and why that’s happened. If they decide that the manager is responsible, then there might be a price to pay for that.”

As Taylor mentioned, Lamouchi signed a new contract at Forest back in June. However, the length of time in which he had signed up for was undisclosed.

With Forest having failed to win a game in the Championship since their 1-0 victory over Bristol City back at the start of the month, their recent defeat against Stoke ended their season with them sat outside of the play-off places on goal difference, despite amassing 70 points in the league table.

TIF Thoughts…

Given how badly Forest have finished their season with such a poor run of results right at the end, it comes as no surprise that Taylor thinks Lamouchi’s position as manager could be under threat.
