Nice easy one to start off with, from which club did Leeds sign Hernandez?

The Athletic reporter discussed other Leeds-related topics, but spent a bit of time on Milanic and revealed how much he cost the Whites for his short-lived tenure.

When asked how much Milanic’s reign set Leeds back financially, Hay revealed that overall, he cost nearly £1m in wages.

Here is what he had to say when asked about the ex-boss:

“I was told back then that he was on £400,000 a year – that was his salary at Leeds. And he was gardening leave for the best part of two years after that, which would have taken him right up to the end of his deal.

“So I suspect that all in, that will have cost Leeds somewhere close to £800,000; not too far off £1m for those 32 days.”

This is incredible that Leeds had to pay Milanic not far off £1m for just 32 days.

TIF Thoughts…

Milanic was appointed on the 23rd of September and lasted till the 25th October 2014 in that time, he took charge of six games, and the Whites lost three and drew three.

Neil Redfearn replaced him, and his 32-day tenure is the shortest managerial stint in Leeds’ history.

It seems baffling that one he lasted just 32 days though results weren’t great, you would have thought that he might have been given more time and then the fact that it cost the club nearly £1m just rubs the salt into the wounds.
