Paddy Miller has been discussing whether or not he believes Leeds United will be able to cope without Kalvin Phillips for the rest of the season.

The club confirmed earlier this week that the 24-year-old would be sidelined for up to five weeks having sustained a knee injury during the recent victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

The ‘Yorkshire Pirlo‘ has made 37 appearances in the Championship for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this season, it is fair to say he is a key player for the Whites.

Nice easy one to start off with, from which club did Leeds sign Hernandez?

Speaking on a recent episode of the Talking Shutt podcast, Miller spoke with regards to how big of a blow it was to lose the player and whether or not he believes the team will cope without him. He said:

“He’d be a massive loss to any team in the Championship, but luckily we’ve got the points on the board and that’s why we’ve got a squad – that’s the whole point of the squad. I know it’s not ideal, but you’ve got players who can play in there; [Stuart] Dallas, Ben White; they can all do a job in there.

“If we were talking about him being injured in January then yeah, it would have been a big worry for me, then. But with three games left, we’ve got enough quality to get us over [the line].”

Are you confident either Dallas or White can fill in for Phillips?

TIF Thoughts…

According to WhoScored.com, the midfielder’s average performance rating in the Championship this season stands at 7.22/10, making him the club’s second-most consistent performer only behind Luke Ayling – highlighting his importance to the team.

Miller appears to be confident, however, that either Stuart Dallas or Ben White are capable of filling the void created by the player’s absence.
