Fans of West Brom have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays news regarding the resumption of the Championship season.
In the tweet, the official West Brom Twitter account shared a link to a statement on the club’s website, which confirmed that the Championship season is set to resume on 20th June.
The statement also relayed comments made by EFL chairman Rick Parry, who stated: “With Sky Bet Championship clubs set to return to full contact training later this week and following Saturday’s government announcement, we are edging closer towards resuming the 2019/20 EFL season. We have therefore today consulted with the board’s Championship directors and agreed to fixtures restarting behind closed doors on 20 June.”
In reaction to the news, fans of West Brom flocked to have their say on the matter, with many seeming delighted at the news, and calling for their side to achieve promotion to the Premier League.

Following their relegation to the Championship in the 2017/18 season, failure to secure promotion back to the Premier League in 2018/19 has meant that West Brom are currently experiencing their longest spell out of the top flight since the 2007/08 season.
However, the club look on course to secure promotion this term, sitting in second place in the Championship table, one point behind league leaders Leeds, and six above third-placed Fulham with just nine fixtures remaining of the season.
Do you think West Brom will secure automatic promotion this season?
Yes
No
As such, many of the Baggies fans have responded to the news that the season looks set to resume later this month with messages of joy.

With crucial fixtures against Fulham and Brentford – both of whom are currently in the play-off places – still to play over the remaining fixtures of the Championship season, West Brom are by no means assured of promotion just yet.
Having said this, with victories against those sides, as well as ensuring that there are no major slip-ups against other sides over the course of their run-in, the six-point gap between West Brom and third-placed Fulham will give them a great chance of securing Premier League football next season – something which their fans are evidently desperate for.
