Charlton Athletic-focused Twitter account @CafcFacts recently posted a tweet that included a link to a report from Sky Sports which claims that a Portuguese consortium are allegedly “in talks” to complete a takeover of the Addicks.
This article includes some footage of an interview that Sky Sports recently conducted with Fernando Corte-Real from this consortium named ‘Corporate Football Organisation Portugal’. In this interview, Corte-Real reveals that he and his group have made “two kinds of offers” to Charlton thus far. He goes on to explain that the first offer was made to acquire majority ownership of the club, whilst the second offer was made for “assuming commitments” in exchange for majority ownership of the Addicks.
Sky Sports also claim that this group have said that they’ve got “a five-year plan” to bring Charlton back to England’s top-flight.
This tweet from @CafcFacts has caught the attention of many Addicks fans who have been responding to this post to have their say on this alleged takeover news.

Some Charlton fans responded negatively to this alleged news.
Not a lot to find about him or the group… doesn’t fill me with excitement that they know anything about football!

However, some Addicks fans were somewhat more positive, with one Charlton supporter stating that this latest development is “very interesting”, whilst another revealed that they are pleased by Corte-Real’s positive comments about Addicks manager Lee Bowyer.
Do you think that this group could be good for Charlton Athletic?I THINK SOI'M NOT SURE |
That’s very interesting as before ESI and even the Aussies there was rumblings of Portuguese interest and firm good people with football back ground

East Street Investments completed their takeover of Charlton as recently as January and as per Sky Sports, the EFL ended up launching an investigation into potential misconduct with regard to that takeover. With that in mind, it may be understandable why some Addicks fans seem wary about getting too excited over this potential buyer, given their recent experience with new owners.
